Four Second Fury
OMG you have to try this game on yahoo. You should have seen us at work the other night all playing. Stef, Angele, and I sitting side by side pounding away on our keyboards trying to beat this game. Yes we are dorks! It is sooo fun but also very aggravating and addicting. I came straight home and got Ryan to show me how to beat it. Let me know how you do!! http://games.yahoo.com/free-games/four-second-fury
Hope your week is off to a good start!! If not smile because its half way over!

Not really Normal but......
Things are thankfully returning to normal, well I wouldn't say normal but I guess more regular. New Orleans could never be called normal. I have grown to love NOLA and the people here even though there are obviously disadvantages of living here. The most important being we are below sea level, outrageous cost of living, and obviously a hurricane bullseye. Some people think New Orleanians are crazy for staying but I guess you wouldn't understand until you have lived here and experienced it yourself. There is just something about the culture, heritage, and ambiance that surrounds you. Ryan and I can be totally satisfied some days by just riding through the French Quarter and people watching on a Sunday or taking a ride along St. Charles Ave and looking at all the big houses and dream of living in them someday, and of course the food here is like no other city I have been in. So maybe that will give you a little idea of what it is like. You should come for a weekend and experience it yourself.
The city has been dead for days but now people are returning, businesses are reopening, and NOLA is once again coming back to life. Fortunately we never lost power but there are many who still are without power. Ryan's parents have stayed the past two nights with us, but there power is back on and they returned home today. Zoe got so much extra attention while they were here I think she really misses them. I have been like a real house wife the last two days. I have cooked the last two nights meals for the family who in fact said they were delicious. Ryan is back to work tonight and I return tomorrow night so then we will be back to the night owls again after being day people for the past six days we have been off.
Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Hurry back Please!
Man I wish I had some Popeye's right now. Not like thats anything I should be eating but.......... Beanie weanies are not good anymore, actually I only liked the idea of them. After the first can I decided they were disgusting. No stores are open yet and all we have left is PB&J, lean cuisines, can foods, and stuff in the freezer that I don't really wanna cook. I am still having cabin fever but Ryan and I did play a very challenging game of Monopoly last night in which I did loose but I must say he did loose the last three games in the past couple of months so it was about time I let him win. I think we are finally fixing to get out of the house and go try and drive around and survey the damage if JP will let us. Wish us luck!
For those of you still returning be safe and for those of you who still do not have power, I give you my sympathy.
p.s. that pic was from Katrina. We are so thankful to not have near as severe damage with Gustav.
update: ok so Ryan gave me a English lesson after he read this blog sorry for the grammatical errors. Now I will not be so careless when spelling lose maybe I will just say lost and avoid it all!

"Love fed fat soon turns to boredom"
Not sure what this quote even means but I feel it is happening right now. We are still under a 24 hour curfew along with all other surrounding parishes. So I am having a little cabin fever. It is raining again so can't really go outside. I know I have been eating out of boredom and it is imperative that I stop this. We do thankfully have power and internet. The satellite just went out for the first time and there is only so much sex two people can have. So you could sum up our last couple days with three words- eating, sleeping, & fornicating.
A quote from Ryan less than one minute ago. "Well I gotta go poo that will take up some time" LMAO! see what I mean.

we survived!
Looks like the brunt of the storm is over. We still may have some more rain to come in but the winds have died down and the rain has stopped for now. We still have power, satellite and internet as you can see. We don't have cell phone service though. We are very thankful for the protection that was given to us and wish everyone a safe return to the city.
Love ya!

Gustav almost here!
Gustav will be here in about an hour. We are fine thus far. For those of you who don't know I arrived at work last night for my mandatory imprisonment and was told we were overstaffed so they sent me back home. I was glad in a way that I could be with Ryan and Zoe but just wish I we would have found out earlier so we could have evacuated. By that time it was already too late. The mandatory curfew was already in effect and the interstates were jammed. Reporters say the traffic was only moving about 2 miles an hour and no relief from the Contraflow.
So we are all bunkered down just riding it out. Hope all of you are safe and hope to hear from you soon.
We Love you all!
update: sorry i meant Gustav is about an hour from landfall but we will not feel the strongest effects here until about 9am. I am sure everyone is watching but we will not be getting a direct hit. Looks like it will make land fall around Houma which is about 2 hours away, well thats how long it took Ryan and I to get there one time b/c we got lost but anyway mapquest it if you are curious!
All your prayers and concerns are appreciated!! Ryans parents are in the city as well they did not evacuate either so please remember them as well. will update again soon as long as I still have internet access!
love you all!
